Jill Hacking

Painter

"I am a New Hampshire artist from the Lake Sunapee area. My approach is representational, and the impression of light and color in the landscape is what mainly drives my inspiration. I enjoy painting the timeless landscapes of area lakes, New Hampshire mountains, barns, farms, and fields, and especially the “Iconic scenes” around Lake Sunapee.

I have exhibited my paintings at the “Naturally New England” show in the harbor by the Center for the Arts of New London and the Library Arts Center in Newport. I presently have paintings at Tatewell Gallery in New London.

I studied fine arts in college, and for the past 12 years, in my retirement, I have taken up landscape painting, using various media, but mainly oils and watercolors.

I have in more recent years studied with several local artists, including Grace Cooper and Ron Brown, among others."
