The Arts and Business Alliance is seeking experienced arts professionals to help create an artful, illustrated map to highlight and promote the rich concentration of arts and cultural assets that are thriving in the region. The mapped region encompasses large portions of Sullivan and Merrimack counties (with Lake Sunapee as the map’s epicenter) and will feature approx. 30-40 arts and culture destinations (galleries, performance centers, cultural organizations, etc.) The published paper map will be widely distributed in print throughout the region and surrounding areas, and a corresponding website will be created featuring a digitized, interactive map with expanded information about the featured assets, as well as other points of interest, dining, accommodations, and businesses in the greater region.
An illustrator will create an artful, engaging, hand-drawn map of the region, with emphasized arts and culture points of interest. As the map will exist both in paper form, as well as digitally, an ideal framework for the map would be to create it in layers so that it can be easily translated to a digital format.
A graphic designer will take the hand-illustrated map, and supplemental information, and then lay it out in brochure format to prepare it for publication. If the illustrator has hand-drawn the map on paper, a graphic designer may be needed in order to assist with digitizing the map.
The finished, digitized map will be the focal point of an interactive website. A web designer will help to bring the map to life, creating links to featured assets, and build out support pages to highlight featured destinations.
Ideal candidates would have expertise with both graphic design and illustration. Preference will be given to artists who reside within the region (with soft borders), and who are familiar with many of the points of interest.
Interested persons should submit several relevant work samples (preferably of maps), as well as a bid/estimate, to this email address: email@example.com by August 1, 2020. Questions or inquiries may also be directed to this email address.
